OpenHoop Studio started with a simple question every machine embroiderer asks before stitching: will this design fit my hoop, and do I have the right thread for it?

Most embroidery tools online are free to try and then ask for a subscription. OpenHoop Studio is free to use, with no account and no limits. Everything runs in your browser, so your design files never leave your device.

What you can do here

• Check a design. Open a DST, PES, JEF or EXP file to see it in your hoops, with its size, stitch count and an estimated stitch-out time.
• Match your threads. Save the threads you own, and each color in a design is matched to the closest one. If you’re missing a color, you get a shopping list.
• Convert thread numbers. Find the closest color to any thread across 31 brands.

Built on open source

Thread color charts come from Ink/Stitch, the free embroidery extension for Inkscape. If you design your own embroidery, Ink/Stitch is worth a look. OpenHoop Studio’s own code is open source too.
